Similar to a CSA, the FoxfirePLUS+ plan is a unique way to support sustainable, local food production AND get the most bang for your buck. Simply prepay for the season and we’ll give you a 15% bonus as our thank you for investing in our family farm.
- Pre-pay $100, you’ll get an extra $15
- Pre-pay $200, you’ll get an extra $30
- Pre-pay $300, you’ll get an extra $45
- Pre-pay $500, you’ll get an extra $75
A pre-paid plan makes your ordering super-simple. There are no boxes or buying restrictions: you simply do your regular shopping and select your credits as your payment type when you checkout. Easy peasy!
This way, you can spend your credits on exactly what you want. As much fun as it can sometimes be to discover a new fruit or vegetable, you may not always want to be stuck with kohlrabi week after week. (As much as we love kohlrabi…)
Here’s how to get started
- Click here to go to the Pre-Pay page.
- Browse through the products or search for “FoxfirePLUS+,” then select the amount you would like to pay.
- Click “Add to Cart.”
- Click the “View Cart” link, either just under the item you just added to your cart or by clicking the shopping cart icon at the top of the page. Review the items you have in your cart, then click “Continue to Checkout.” Complete the checkout process.
- All done!
- Each time you shop, choose “Store Credit” as your payment type. We’ll deduct the amount from your store credit and mark your balance on the packing slip that you’ll receive with your order – it’s as simple as that!
Is this a CSA?
It’s similar, but no. Many farms have traditional CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) programs, but this is a bit different. We have purposely created an option that’s a bit more customizable for you!
In a traditional CSA, you pay an amount at the beginning of the season to help the farmer offset the large number of expenses that occur at the beginning of the season and to invest in making it possible to have local food available all season long.
In exchange, the farm provides you with a box of vegetables (or whatever else the farm provides) over the course of the season. You get flavor-packed, fresh food all season long! (And typically, CSA customers get the freshest produce! When the produce comes in off the field, it often is packed into the CSA boxes first before being sorted for market.)
The common difficulties with this type of program, however, is that often your box isn’t very customizable – you may be able to request an extra carton of eggs or swap out one particular vegetable you’re not crazy about when the box is delivered, but mostly, you get to figure out what to do with the produce that’s provided.
Also, if you need to go out of town for a time, often you lose out on the boxes you miss – you don’t usually get credit for them to use later in the season.
So, we wanted to create a highly customizable way for you to benefit from the advantages of a CSA while not needing to lock yourself in and deal with the disadvantages that come with the CSA model too.
Does this work offline too?
YES! While using your pre-paid credits is definitely easiest if you submit your order online, we can definitely use your credits in person too. We’ll just have you fill out a quick form so we know we have all the correct account details and you’ll be on your way.
Do my prepaid credits expire?
No, like a gift card or like cash, once you’ve prepaid, your credits are there indefinitely and you may spend them whenever you need them. You can use them up in one fell swoop before you go on the houseboat with your whole extended family or you can use them over the course of several years – it’s entirely up to you.
Can I get a refund for any credits I don’t use?
Because credits don’t expire, we do not provide refunds. FoxfirePLUS+ purchases are final sale.
That said, we are thinking, feeling human beings, not an unfeeling institution. If you experience an emergency and need to discuss options, please contact us so we can work out a mutually beneficial solution.
Can I gift my store credits to someone else?
Absolutely! We love it when we all get to share the love. <3 You just tell us the name and email address of the person you’d like to gift your credits to and we’ll take it from there.
And even better, if you want to split the credits, we can do that too – so you get half and you gift the other half to someone else.
Please note, however: if the credits are going to be split between three or more people, we require that the pre-payment must be at least $500. Also, our payment processor only allows for one transaction, so even if multiple people are going to share the credits, there can only be one payment used to make the initial purchase.
